May Books Periodical

This month I surprisingly read through a few books even though I spent as much time as I could outside at the parks, in the garden and near a pond or two.

Still Alice by Lisa Genova
I read this for my first book in the book club I started and it was beautiful, gripping and seemed so real. I really enjoyed how the writing progressed and show Alice slowly slipping into Alzheimer's, now to watch the movie. Definitely recommend and give it 5 out of 5 stars.

Sun Stand Still by Steven Furtick
My friend Allie and I send each other books via snail mail and this was one she recently sent me and I couldn't believe I never have read it till now. It was thought provoking, honest and inspiring. Definitely recommend.

The Heiress of Winterwood by Sarah Ladd
This was a surprising little addition to my book pile this month. I had been wanting to dig into this series and I am so happy I found it at the library. It almost has a little Jane Austen feel but in a different era.

Taken by Dee Henderson
I have always loved this author's style of writing and this one didn't disappoint. I love these kind of thrillers and I read through it in a few days. Definitely a must read.

The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty
I have really enjoyed a few other books by this author but this one didn't impress me. It had too many foul words and didn't exactly have morals like her other ones. A neat storyline as it followed three different families and it was interesting how they linked up but I only gave it 3 stars out of 5.

Currently I am reading At Home in Mitford and it is a nice, calm read. Really enjoying the small town feel of it. I also just picked up a stack of books from the library the other day and am hoping to get through them this month! What have you been reading?
