Fun Advent Countdown

I am so excited this year for Christmas.

Ben is now 3 years old and is beginning to understand more and more each day.

I decided to make this our first year of Advent Countdown!

I had one growing up and always loved waking up and being able to switch the numbers on our simple advent calendar. Sometimes there were sibling rivalries over who would do it ;)

I was searching and searching this past November for a unique advent countdown that would be geared towards Ben's age, his understanding ability and also fun & simple.

I love Truth in the Tinsel and can't wait to try it possibly next year!! She even has printables now if you don't have an advent countdown set up!

There is also the fabulous Jesse Tree that Ann is doing at her home. I love the Jesse Tree! This has printables too!

Then I found a perfect beyond perfect countdown. (For our family)

Each evening the boys will open a book marked with the number of the day and we will read it before they go to bed.

I love this countdown because:

1. My boys love to be read to

2. It is such a cute idea!

3. I love books and hope to pass on this passion of books to our boys

Each book is Christmas themed this year. Just so I can get Ben to understand the meaning of Christmas and Baby Jesus and all that Christmas entails.

I love the simplicity of this countdown!

It also did not cost me more than $22!! I went to the used book store and bought all the books!

You could even use library books or your own books to save money! The idea is to make it fun for the kids to countdown to Christmas and to put them to bed each night with a story (which we do anyways).

Question: Are you doing an Advent Countdown this year?

Have you entered into the giveaway? It ends tomorrow at midnight!
