A day in my life

If you read my previous post it said my boys did amazingly well on Christmas. Especially with how many houses and people we saw over a few days.

The days following Christmas I feel as if they were switched and I was given two completely different boys.

On Thursday while Ian was napping I decided to take a nap also, so I popped in a movie for Ben and laid on the couch beside him.

I wake up 30 minutes later to a child who is bouncing off the walls, literally.

I find wrappers all over the floor and discover he had found the hidden stash of stocking candy he had gotten for Christmas.

He ate about a little over half of it.

Then soon after it was time to leave to meet my brother for dinner.

As I quickly took a minute or two to brush my hair and check my makeup- Benjamin had dumped baby powder on himself, his brother and all over the floor. Oh my word. It was hard not to laugh, but it was also very frustrating because I was trying to leave :)

I was so stressed trying to keep the boys from fighting I left my keys inside the house. It was cold and very windy out. I was locked out of my car and house.

I first walked around for about 10 minutes trying to decide what to do while keeping my 3 year old from scrapping people's cars in the parking lot with a tree branch and carrying Ian.

I finally remembered I could go to the office and ask for a spare key to get into the apartment. Success! Yay! :)

When we got in the car I put some music on and seriously one minute my 3 year old is shouting and dancing to Usher and the next I look back and he is out. Snoring softly. Quiet and enjoyable ride :)

So that is a look into about 2-3 hours of my day.

I love every minute. Even though I love every minute does NOT mean I don't become stressed, defeated or close to tears.

I am so thankful to have family and friends who understand that sometimes it is ok to cry, it is ok to lock yourself in the bathroom and sit on the floor, it is ok to laugh in the most stressful moment and sometimes its ok to have a few drinks at dinner with your amazing hubby and fabulous friends, which is exactly what I did Saturday night!
