How to have authentic motherhood in 5 simple steps
Definition of Authentic: Of undisputed origin. Genuine. True. Real.
Definition of Motherhood: The state of being a mother. Mothers considered as a group.
The true state of being a mom. The real state of being a mom.
1. Carve out time each day with Jesus
The time spent with Jesus each day. Even 15 minutes will brighten your day. Encourage you as a woman, wife and mom.
2. Find fellowship in a community of other moms
All moms need fellowship. We need and crave a community of other moms. Find a moms group, MOP's group or bible study of moms just like you. You will not regret it. I promise
3. Sometimes a hug is needed
A hug? Yes, sometimes you and the child you are losing patience with just need to sit on the couch and cuddle. Hug. Breathe. Try it for 10 minutes after a very hard day/morning, whatever is frustrating you about the child you is not obeying, listening.
4. Enjoy these moments
Don't forget to enjoy these moments. Don't let your children remember you as always cleaning, always on the phone. Step away from the laundry pile. Step away from texting and Facebook. Go and enjoy some play time with your little ones.
5. Exercise.
Bundle those kiddos up. Grab a walking DVD, do one mile. Exercise will encourage your mind, heart and body. You will start feeling stronger, more fit and happier.
Authentic Motherhood is all about being real. It's simple and should not be complicated.
