Losing Weight
I want to be more intentional. I want to be healthy. I want to be fit and able to enjoy every minute with my family.
Beginning this year I had a goal to lose weight. It's a goal I have had on my list for 3.5 years but have never really taken the proper steps and reached my goal.
I also have realized that for the past 3 years I was doing the wrong exercises.
After having a 9 lb. 2 oz. and 10. 8oz. boys I should have realized my abs would be a little separated.
Attention Ladies! Every woman has somewhat of a diastasis recti. (Especially if you had a big baby)
I have been doing ab exercises and P90 thinking these would help me, only to find out I was actually making it worse.
I actually need to NOT do hardcore abdominal exercise.
So in December I bought a calendar, I downloaded the My Fitness Pal app, and I found an amazing accountability partner ;)
I have the most supportive husband. If I told him tomorrow that I wanted to be a famous singer, He would help me reach my goal. If I told him I wanted to be a famous blogger, He would help me and probably even design my blog for me since he is into IT and knows how:)
So he said we would have a challenge. June 12 is our goal date. Whoever is at there goal weight by June 12 gets a new wardrobe.
So I am proud to say since January 1st I have lost
Yes, I am so surprised and so happy.
What have I been doing?
1. I count my calories and eat 1400 calories a day, The maximum is 1600.
2. I run on the treadmill, at least 3 times a week.
3. I get 8 hours of sleep each night.
4. I take my thyroid medicine daily. (more on this later)
5. Accountability partner
6. Journal daily. I have a calendar.
I am addicted to running now and have signed up for my first 5k in April! I am going to be running the Color me Rad 5k in Richmond with my husband and younger brother. I am so excited and terribly nervous, I do not know how I will make it 3 miles but my husband says I will and to take it one step at a time even if I walk some of it (isn't he awesome?).
Any tips for a new runner is greatly appreciated!
Encouragement is keeping me going to my goal weight and to be fit and healthy!
