Five Minute Friday: Rest
Linking up with Lisa-Jo today for FMF.

1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community..
The Word is: Rest
This time I am with 2 boys, who are three and one, is just a season. A season of sticky fingers, crumbs remaining from snack time and toys scattered around the house. A season I am content in being in. A season I am finally learning to embrace.Baths are done. The boys are tucked in with Captain America (Ben) and Cookie Monster (Ian). The last light is off in each of their rooms and I sit down and just breath. I want to finish the dishes, I want to wipe down the sticky table, I want to write. Usually writing wins.
I used to want them to grow up quickly, so I could take them places, go on roller coasters with them. But now? I want to enjoy it. Embrace it. Laugh in it.
Soon I won't have sticky fingers, I will have teenagers playing baseball. I won't have crumbs on the floor, I will have an empty fridge most likely :)
Although I am embracing this season I still need rest. We as a family still need rest. We need those times where electronics are turned off, phones on silent and enjoy each other's company.
This is what I am talking about.

This will be my first weekend away from social media.
