Kid Friendly Lasagna {two secret ingredients}
I have consistently been meal planning for about 4 years now. I have slowly built up a few recipes that I do from memory and it feels good to know just a few. I wasn't the cook growing up in my home, I left that to my older and younger brother surprisingly. Since getting married and especially within the last year I have put a focus on trying new meals, new recipes and getting out of my comfort zone when it comes to preparing food.
I am happy to bring you one of our family favorites! Let me know if you try it and I will take it as a compliment if your little one's plate is licked clean (I kid, maybe) ;).
Kid Friendly Lasagna
Ingredients
mozzarella cheese
oven ready lasagna
ground beef (or ground turkey)
jar of pasta sauce
24 oz. ricotta cheese
1 egg
greek seasoning (secret ingredient!)
sugar (secret ingredient!)
1. Ground the beef and drain.
2. While it's cooking, in a bowl grate the cheese. (I usually do about half the bar).
3. In a separate bowl put ricotta, some mozzarella from the grated bowl and 1 egg.
4. Place beef, pasta sauce, couple shakes of seasoning and two "splashes" of sugar from a serving spoon.
5. Begin layering in a 9x13 with beef mixture, lasagna, ricotta and so on. I usually get about 2.5 layers or so.
6. Wrap with foil and bake for 25 minutes on 375 degrees.
Serve with some veggies or a salad and watch it disappear!
